Should we redirect (301) from index.php to root domain?

We all read seo tips from many great websites in addition to google web masters guidelines.
Well there is one thing that I really don’t know if i should call it a tip or just a recommendation from experts around the web that is confusing me.
I heard from few sources that I should redirect 301(permanent redirection) from the index.php or index.html to my root domain so if someone (including web crawlers) points to www.Mysite.com/index.php he get redirected to www.mysite.com , well usually a redirection is used to prevent duplicate content in this case or when a new page replaces an old one.. But in this case we redirect a very normal situation to a normal situation, let me explain:
The web servers from their beginnings are made in a structure and options to use a default page that loads as we land in the root domain name, the web crawlers exists many years before search optimization starte to gain such popularity, and I assume that google also knows to “understand” the meaning of index.php and index.html, etc,,, files.

So, why this redirection is really needed? Im sure that many websites that are very optimized for search engines are not using this redirection.

Also assume that crawlers that index the websites are usually skips these kind of files and in fact they should! since the root website already contains the original content of our main page.

Google SERP Give the web users a stage

Search results from Google.com starts to appear with option to promote/remove from results pages that i customized to do so .

If you are logged on to Google account , you may see 3 new icons near each SERP search engine results page.
1. Promote – used to promote a Search result to first page

2. Remove – removes the page from furure search term.

3. add comment, these comments might be public .

Picasa 3 Beta – like this feature

Well, Picasa 3 beta is already ready for download and i must tell that there are 2 Most liked things in this update :

1. Picasa Viewer : Works fast, click on an image and navigate throu the photos in the current folder.
2. Picasa Web Albums uploader. I like this Button : ” Dont eat my bandwidth”

so if you are ready to try it , i had to tell these two features i really liked.

When Developing AJAX Websites, there might be some issues you want to consider.

What is Google Sandbox..?
Well in one sentence its the fear of every new web site.

That was the short way , Here is the detailed one :

Imagine you had a lot of icons on your desktop . and one day , your Boss is telling you to arrange every item on your desktop and files.
What are the first things you would do ?

Items and icons that you know where they belong to , probably would be the first you will arrange . and icons/items that you didnt decide what s with them you left to the end of that task.

Lets go to search results for a moment.. and imagine that Brand new domains and websites are showing up everyday . and they become popular in less than one month , by building a rapid link exchange and link trading program . With that situation Google will show a terrible results , of new , unsorted and incomplete websites that just got popular by builiding link exchange program .

So what Next ? It seems (and prooven) that google detects new websites and record their initial status .. (links, ranking.. etc.) Than after a period of unknown time. it discover that a Large Amount of Links were build into the web site.. Ooops. it turn on a Flag says : Optimization Occour Fast . Than it is well known that a very competitive subject is beeing promoted with this website subject . That take on another flag . And the last one is the Age of the domain name . which is brand new.

Those factors made a new websites enter to a SandBox , go down at the bottom of the search results.
